a lot of things have changed within the last eight months. lay offs, loosing my apartment, making ends meet on minimum wage......then within the last 3 weeks the breakup with my boyfriend, the death of my father on july 2nd, a new job and so much more. i never thought i would loose much in such a short period of time but everything happens for a reason right? i have experienced so many ups and downs with the last eight months, that i feel that i finally hit my bottom and the only place to go is up!
while my breakup was tough the lost of the only man who loved me without any terms or conditions rocked me to my core. my whole life, my sister and i strived to make our dad proud and he was taken from us so sudden due to a massive heart attack and our mission to make him proud still lives on. he will truly be loved and missed forever and ever!

when....
You miss someone so much, that it's hard to function during the day because they were such a big part of it, when it hurts so bad, when one sleepless night turns into days and weeks of sleepless nights. How does one cope when the person you love has turned cold? Eventually all will come together and things will move along but in the meantime a girl needs major retail therapy and pampering. I've been told that there is one person in everyone's life who has this effect on them, some of us go through it early in life while others experience it later either way; we all go through it. So I guess the big question is: is there really only one real love in a lifetime? If so what happens when it falls apart?

Loyalty
Loyalty is something that is established between two people, but what happens when the loyalty isn't reciprocated? A bond is been broken, and that damaged aspect of friendships/relationships will always cause problems and that bond will never be whole again.

curly hair cocktail
I have noticed for a while that a lot of women have decided to go natural. I have been natural for a while and I have the very rare 3C curls. I have fought these tight ringlets all my life until 3 years ago. I decided to stop the never ending battle because, it was not worth all of the hassle. Growing up my mom pressed my hair with the old school straightening comb and then I took matters into my own hands as a teen and started the relaxer process. The relaxer process yielded some bad results hair thinning and lost so did away with it because, at heart I am a wash and go kind of girl. Nonetheless, I brought back my curly tresses and I have embraced them ever since (the way my mom encouraged me to from the beginning).
I had to find the right combination of hair products to create and maintain the proper balance of moisture and shine for my grade of hair. With much experimenting I found the perfect cocktail (results may vary)!
Alba Mango Moisturizing Hair Wash
Herbal Essences Totally Twisted Conditioner
Cantu Shea Butter Leave-in Conditioning Repair Creme
These products have proven to be amazing for my hair, when used in the right combination. I wash, condition and detangle in the shower; after that I shingle in the Cantu Shea Butter while hair is wet. Then I defuse the top of my hair for 5 mins or so and then pull it into a high ponytail and let it air dry. By defusing the top, I set the top layer of curls, the ponytail gives it volume and air drying allows for your natural curl pattern to take effect. Your curls can last up to 3-5 days if maintained properly! Right now I am sporting 4 day old hair and I can still get at least 2 more days out of it.
Most people use the twist out method for these curls, but this is my natural texture |
Hair has not been styled and I do apologize for the lack of makeup! Sundays are the days I let my face rest. |

Adore her....
I am speaking of the amazing Jennifer Lopez. Many people may call her overrated and untalented, but personally I loooove her style and I think she is talented (triple threat) and in my head she is known as Auntie Jennifer! lol
I thought her ad campaign for Tous was gorgeous and creative (kudos to Ellen von Unwerth) I need one of those bears!
XOXO

NEVER APOLOGIZE.....
-for what you think
-how you feel
-or what you do (depending on the action, if it's out of spite....you know the deal....it's not right)
if the actions are genuine and from the heart it's a REAL thought, emotion and action. Never apologize for being who you are!
